Tickle Me Tuesdays! - Super Sweet

I'm so excited to be putting together another Tickle Me edition! I've missed a couple and Tuesdays just aren't the same without one!

So here are some of my favourite, girlie etsy items with an extra large dose of candy pink.

1. The millinery section in The Gilded Bee is full of perfect little posies of beautiful flowers like these that make my heart go pitter-patter.

2. The Dragon House Of Yuen has a whole -extended- family of these fetching little bunnies.

3. ScrapunzelPixie has some of my all-time favourite brooches. I love those hearts....and the birds....and the trees.....

4. Abigail Brown makes a whole array of  unbelievable textile art birds. The only appropriate word I can think of is: awesome!

5.I can't resist anything circus, so add vintage and pink on top of that and Altered Artifacts really got me with this one!

Lavender Loveheart Brooches

Maybe you've seen the making of these little hearts in a previous post, maybe not.

This is the finished product, modelled and shot and in the shop!

Silky to the touch, sweet-smelling, girlie, lavender-filled lovehearts that you can carry with you all day long, pinned to your top, jacket or even your bag .

The colours: dusty rose pink, bright red, mellow burgundy, rusty orange and caramel brown.

I'm a big fan of lavender as well as lavender sachets.

 I think I was hooked when reading about  the long list of healing and therapeutic properties of the herb.

I've been meaning to make a special post about it for some time -and one of these days I will...

Until then, here's the skinny:

Lavender is well known for it's calming, soothing properties but it's actualy also a tonic and a stimulant and is used against exhaustion .

Anti-stress and anti-depressant, it relieves anxiety and can even help balance mood swings.

There's so many uses that the list seems endless......

......I'll have to make that post soon.

My Creative Space - Children's Duck Bags

This is what I've been up to lately...

These are a selection of little bags made as party favours for a kid's birthday party.

Each one is different -even if the duck is the same.

There are boys' and girls' versions.

You can tell by the shape, colours and size (not so much in the photos though...)

But overall, I tried to make most of them suitable for either boys or girls.

Packaged in a rather hasty manner ......

I'll have to work on that next time...

I spy.....Gucci Teals F/W 2011

Surely Gucci's  ready-to-wear collection for Fall 2011 must be one of this season's most stunning collections.
Not only is it bold and bright but it's also terribly elegant and chic -not to mention vampishly sexy.
While the colours are breath-taking in themselves, their combination in the collections are  nothing short of explosive.

Having said that, I'm sharing  some of the vibrant teal pieces -because, sadly, I just couldn't fit all 50 masterpieces of the complete collection in one post.....

My Creative Space- Waxed Cord Sister Bracelets

The other day my sister requested some waxed cord bracelets, as the old ones had given up the ghost after about a year of constant wear -and tear. (She never takes them off, not even in the shower or at the beach.)

These three bracelets are the fruit of our collaboration.

We're both very pleased with them, even though we have totaly different taste -in just about everything. 

The trick is that we both get our say in how each of these bracelets is made.

She  brings me the key elements she'd like it to have and then I'm allowed to decide about the rest of it.

It's great fun.

We also made a pair of earrings with some big, beautiful, carved coral flowers -that I couldn't photograph because she wouldn't part with them......

 Now I'm hooked again, so it's quite possible you'll be seeing a few of these around here in the near future....

My Creative Space - Black Ruffle Cuffs

While black is definately a safe choice for accessories, I naturaly tend to move towards happy colours instead.

Lately, however, I've been drawn to the dramatic effect of black.

This ruffle cuff is black shantung silk -which is one of my all-time favourite materials to work with-

with some black lace and a taupe cotton ribbon to tie it closed.

This one is an ice-blue cotton ruffle cuff with an extra wide black lace over it

and a pale blue-gray cotton ribbon with black trimming to tie it closed.

Bag Entries for Purse Week

I finally made the deadline today for the bag contest going on over at A Lemon Squeezy Home.

It's actually the second one I finished today because I ruined the first version of the bag -identical except for the floral fabric used.

The moral of the story is: don't try that new thing you've been meaning to when it's close to your deadline......

I'm very happy with this one except that I altered it's original rounded shape by adding some tucks down at the corners at the bottom and they make it look boxier than what I had in my sketch.

But I like boxy as much as I like rounded......so it's fine.

The large circle on the one side is in fact a pocket. It closes with a magnetic clasp and it's been my favourite pocket for a while now.

It holds quite a few things and pretty securely at that.
