Stone Garden

More doodled rocks with flower motifs.

It seems that I don't tire of what you can do with a permanent marker and some stones.

I'm afraid you haven't seen the last of this sea stone phase...

Christmas Decor Sea Stones

I've been making more sea rocks - in a decidedly festive tone.

They don't photograph very well because the light bounces off the black ink and the black  gets all shiny and white. But they are a beautiful deep black in real life. Very bold and graphic.
If I can manage to take better photos of the others before I give them out, I will be sharing them with you later.

They make great last-minute gifts. All you need are some stones, a permanent marker and your imagination.

If you want to catch up on more sea rock posts, you can find them here, here, here and here.

Monogrammed Sea Rocks

What started out as a quick and simple present idea for a friend has initiated a monogrammed sea rock craze.

These were made with a 1930s art deco vibe in mind so there are the bold lines, sunburst-inspired motifs and a font that's reminiscent of lettering of the era.

I've made more that have already been given away which I didn't have time to photograph.
I'm happy to say they were all well-received.

Now I'm just waiting for a trip down to the beach to get more rocks....

Because I just can't stop.
There are so many designs in my head that I want to experiment with.

Flower Sea Rocks

More sea rocks with floral motifs.
I love making these.
We have a bowl full of them in the hall and use a couple of large ones as paperweights. They are very handy when sewing actually. I use them to hold down pattern pieces that flutter in the breeze -when there's a breeze.....

More Sea Rocks And Doodles

Sea rocks with holes are my favourite.

I can't resist picking it up when I see one.
(And I can't resist doodling on it.)

This rock was particularly fascinating with a beautiful natural pattern of holes -courtesy of Mother Nature.

You can see the other doodled sea rocks here and here.

Sea Rock Doodles

Ah, glorious summer time!

Time to go to the beach, feel the heat of the sun on your (pasty, white) skin... cool down in the refreshing, salty water.....

and find smooth, sun-kissed sea rocks to doodle on to your heart's content.

I find the ones with the holes in them extra special.

They have the most utterly fascinating organic shapes.

The holes also make them meant for hanging.

When I have enough of these, I have a special project in mind for them.
