Flower Motif Sea Rocks

There's something about sea rocks.

There's something most comforting about feeling their smoothness, their weight and the heat they give off from being under the beating sun in the palm of your hand.

There's also something to be said about carrying a marker around with you.....

These are quite large stones, not pebbles. The one that looks like a heart is about 9cm, or just below 4 inches, at its widest part.

The floral motif is a recurring one for me. One that I never tire of.

Easy to make and lots of fun, drawing rocks is one of the perks of a rocky beach.

If you would like one of these rocks for your very own -they're great paperweights!-  just leave me a comment below saying so.
If there's more than one people interested, I'll make a mini draw.

Black Bronze and Pewter Organza Flower Rings

These are my latest organza flower accessories: adjustable flower rings in moody black.

They all have beaded centres, in different colours.
One has large, plain black beads, another has large, bronze, faceted, shimmering beads and the other has pewter seed beads with a more subtle glimmer.

It's quite difficult to capture them in photos.

Black organza in not photogenic -at least not in my shots.
(Though much more so than red organza which I find impossible to photograph.)

They will look so much more themselves when photographed on a model.
You can see how they look worn, here.

You can see the adjustable ring base clearly here.
The flowers are sewn securely to the perforated base.

They should be added to FairytaleFlower soon.

Mini Dusky Pink Fascinator

This is one of my newest flowers.
A seemingly innocent dusky pink laced with a generous dose of drama.

The chunky beads in the centre are actually black onyx stones and the rich burgundy satin flower that is peeking out is handmade by my very own sister....

The flower is pretty small. Only 5cm -just under 2 inches.

But the feather turns it into a much taller 10cm -or almost 4inches.

Garnet Red Satin Flower Corsage

I came across some deep, garnet red satin that just begged me to try my hand at it.

So I obliged.
This is the result.

I think I like it.

My Creative Space - Dark Chocolate

After my prolonged red-pink phase and with the heat rising relentlessly, it was  about time to turn to some cooler colours.

Dark chocolate organza with a touch of mysterious black tulle

shimmering black sequins with sparks of green fire

and the brightest of grass green leaves.

A trio of different sizes.

They are particularly difficult to photograph.

Taupe, Purple and Chocolate

Here's another organza flower in taupe and purple
- just like this one.

But this one here has a soft, natural cotton ribbon in a rich, dark chocolate brown.

It can also be worn as a headband, sash, or wrist corsage.

I finally listed something new in the shop:

It's a headband or a sash, a choker or a wrap-around-the-wrist cuff/corsage.

For little girls or for big girls...

My Creative Space - Journal Cover

I tried something new for me this week and had my first attempt at a journal cover.

This was the result and I'm kind of happy with it -though I see areas for improvement.

I raided my lace stash and used some lace scraps but also some of my grandmother's vintage crochet lace for the first time.

The polka dot fabric was just begging to be added
...so I caved in.....

I couldn't resist adding some vintage scraps and ribbons...

and a couple of black organza flowers...
