White And Gold Flower Hair Pins

These are a dainty set of bridal white organza flower hair pins with a large, sparkly rhinestone centre. The setting of the rhinestones as well as the hair pin itself are a warm yellow-gold.

They're very light and delicate-looking and super easy to wear.
The thing I've always loved about hair pins is that you can use them to style your hair or just add them as a detail to hair you've already set.

I'm already making these in ivory and yellow but I may make them in navy as well.
Any colour suggestions you may have are welcome.

Magenta And Burgundy Flowers

These are some new fabric flowers I've been working on lately.
They're really a version of this flower but much smaller in scale and I've been trying to make them closed tighter, more like a bud than a fully open flower.

The fabric is new and I adore it! Not only is it in two shades of purple, magenta and burgundy, but it also singes like a dream and makes wonderful petals which in turn can make all sorts of wonderful flowers.

I made these into men's boutonnieres but I'm sure they will also make the cutest floral bobby pins.

And a brooch for the lapel of my winter coat....

Pink And Coral

Pink and coral organza flower hair combs with a sparkly rhinestone centre. The flowers measure almost 6cm across (making both flower and comb measure about 7.5 cm) and the comb is 3.5 cm wide.

They're very easy to wear on long or short hair and they can be used to style your hair or simply adorn it.

Have you ever worn a hair comb before?
I found some great hair styling tips with hair combs that you may enjoy. Just have a look here, here and here.

Red Poppy Bangle

This is my very latest: a red poppy flower bangle.
Twin, petite, fabric poppy flowers with lustrous black glass bead centres on a heavy duty elastic cord.

I made this bangle specificaly for me. And I LOVE it!
I've been wearing it since it was finished yesterday morning and I've already got a couple of orders for it!

It's really easy to wear. You just slip it on.
I like it to rest fairly low on my hand but since the elastic cord is so rigid and sturdy, there is no fear of it falling off.

I'm planning on making one in black with an extra sparkly centre and one in lilac with the same black beads as the red one, also for me.
I have a feeling that they will be easy to wear in both winter and summer.

Lots of Yellow

I was re-listing and generaly shuffling things around today at my Fairytale Flower etsy shop and this was how the first page turned out.
So many golden yellows!
I just had to screensave it and share.

Rose Organza Flower Keyring

This was my handmade Christmas gift in this year's Secret Santa exchange organized by Zina.

A delicately rose organza and tulle flower keyring.

With a glossy  black bead centre and charcoal grey satin leaves.

(These flower keyrings are much hardier than they look and they last in pretty good condition for about a year.
You can wash them and iron them too if you like, to keep them looking fresh.)

Radiant Orchid Wedding Flowers

These are some wedding flowers I made for Amanda in radiant orchid: boutonnieres, bobby pins and a couple of large flowers that were turned into a bridal wrist corsage and a flower girl sash....

Violet And Blue

I made this violet and blue organza flower keyring the other day for a friend.
It's the very first thing I made in the new year!

The leaves are a beautiful, deep violet purple satin and the flower is a deep almost midnight blue organza. I couldn't photograph either true hue properly but you get the general idea of what it looks like.

I love the violet-blue combination of flower and leaves and thankfully so does the receiver who  is already in possession of it....

I've actually made myself a couple of these flower keyrings (in other colour combinations) for the new year.
I'll try to remember to photograph them and share the pictures.....

Bridal Boho Corsage

This boho bridal flower wrist corsage is a collection of all sorts of white hues and textures.

The flower itself has oyster white organza petals and layers of bridal white tulle. The centre is hand-beaded with sparkling white sequins and transluscent silver glass beads.

Peeking out from under the flower there's handmade fabric leaves, a snippet of amazing vintage lace, delicately shimmering dupioni silk ribbon and the almost ethereal white organza ribbon that ties it around your wrist.

Putting A Bow On It

Having an item as sensitive as a flower to ship half way across the world means you have to make sure it gets there in the perfect condition in which it leaves .

So my flowers are shipped off in a box that is sturdy enough to help them keep their shape.

But it has to be pretty too, right?
It's part of what's special about having a parcel delivered to your door...

Here's one of my orders getting packaged and ready to be shipped off to Aoife, a lovely bride in beautiful Ireland.

What do you think, is the 'wrapping' as important as what's inside the package or present?

Big And Red And Bold

These are my newest fabric flowers.
They're big and red and bold and pretty different to my other flowers so far.

They also weigh next to nothing which, in my book, is a huge bonus.
You clip them on and forget they're there....

And, yes, you know it, they're my current favourite.
