Finishing Touches - Canvas Leaves

Today I'm finishing off these mother-daughter brooches with summery, canvas leaves.

The veins of the leaves are in my favourite bright red thread.

If they look ready to fray at the edges, that's because they are.

They're going to slowly fray to a pretty dishabille edge.

I'm toying with the idea of attaching the next lot already frayed to their ultimate shabby glory.

In various other colours too.

The next challenge is to actualy list them -at some stage- in the shop.....

Mermaid European Street Team Challenge Winner

The very first thing I must mention is- and anyone who has already seen the entries for this challenge already knows- that picking a winner out of these beautiful listings  was a very hard job indeed.
After a lot of deliberation (and the invaluable input of a little assistant), the winner of the Mermaid Challenge is:

--!--

The rest of the truly inspired mermaid listings are:
-in order of appearance-

Thank you all so much for participating in the challenge.
I loved each and every entry but, unfortunately could pick just one......

I spy......Her Majesty Queen Anne

This week I spy this fabulous apron by Apron Anatomy.

I am a secret lover of aprons -all kinds.

And though I have a soft spot for all those vintage cuties....

who could resist this phenomenal, ruffled apron?

Aptly named the Queen Anne.

Green Circle Brooch

Here is a green version of the Circle Brooch .

It was a request from a friend.

Who specified the colour.

I have a very similar set of two that I wear all the time.

I'll take a picture of the frayed version and post it one of these days.

Here is the tutorial on how to make these brooches for yourself.

And here is the last minute pouch it ended up in.....
