Reversible Octagonal Tote Bag - Small

Fully reversible octagonal tote bag.

One side is a teal and white polka dot cotton and the other a dark blue denim cotton.

Great little women's handbag or project bag.

Polka Dots, Flowers and Butterflies Tote

Handmade bag with polka dots, stripes, butterflies and flowers.

All fabrics used are 100% natural lightweight cotton. 

There's a magnetic snap to keep it closed and two inner pockets: one with a zipper and one without.

The combination of fabrics is a jumble of some of my favourites.

It's a bonus that the bag itself is also very light and practical.

Octagonal Green Floral Origami Bag

This is the reverse side of this green floral octagonal bag.

The fabric used is a fairly heavyweight cotton with discreet green stripes in an almost sage hue, with superimposed floral details in a more vivid green.

You can see the floral fabric of the other side peeking through in this picture.

Pink Eco-friendly Shopping Bag

Shopping bag, project bag, beach bag, market tote or whatever else you may choose to use this bag for, it sure is an eco-friendly, stylish alternative that will be used over and over again.

It is made of a crinkled fabric in a pretty pink that is both lightweight and practical.

 It is very roomy inside and can hold quite a lot - in size as well as weight!

Blue Berry Shopping Bag

Another new shopping bag in fabric that's very reminiscent of the 70s - a charming stylized motif of berries and flowers in blue, purple, white and black. 

This fabric is a personal favourite. I just love it!

This is the large version of this shopper, so that you can do grocery shopping with it as well. It's the same size as the polka dot one.

Cotton Market Bag

Another reusable market bag I've been working on lately. Also in natural cotton.

This one is mine. I've already started using it and it's very practical. I keep it folded in my bag at all times until I need to use it. 

It takes up so little space and I love this grey and black striped cotton.

Foldable Market Bag

Large market bag made from 100% natural cotton in a chic brown and white stripe.

I love how this bag feels to the touch. Crisp cotton has always been one of my favourite fabrics.

The stripes have been difficult to photograph without producing the dazzling optical effect below.

Lace Handbag

I finally managed to make a bag again! It's been so very long!

As much as I LOVE making bags, there just doesn't seem to be enough time to actually start and finish one in its entirety. The unfinished attempts that I have lying around testify to this and prevent me from plucking up the courage to try it anew when I know that I already have too much on my to-do list....

But this one was for a friend who would be leaving within a week or so, and I had promised, so there was nothing to do but to roll up my sleeves, grit my teeth and finish it....

Boy, was it fun!

I tend to forget that -even if it's under pressure-  making a bag is so much FUN!

It's quite big, almost a shopping bag in size, and it's all natural cotton canvas with an overlaid lace in white and pink hues.

The front and back are different because of the design on the lace but I love both sides.

I learnt a new trick with this bag: how to add the kind of  zipper you see in the photo above.

Does anyone know what it's called?

My friend wanted the same kind of zipper a bag of hers had, so I copied it off hers. I really liked the way it turned out, so I will definately be using this on bags from now on.

She loved it and whisked it off with her.

Though for a moment I wasn't sure that I'd be letting go....

Blue Denim

OK, this is not a new bag.

It was made for this challenge a while back.

But it's a new picture and I really wanted to show it off......

I kept this one for myself and I wear it a lot when I don't need the giant oversized bag that fits everything.

It's quite practical.

Maybe next time I'll add a zip to close it instead of a magnetic snap.

Then again, maybe I won't.

Reversible Floral Bucket Bag Purse

This fully reversible floral cotton bag is my entry for the 2-in-1 Challenge  organized by the lovely Rikka of Richochet and Away blog.

Either side of the heavy-weight upholstery cotton fabric shows a different part of the pretty floral design.

This is a bag I've been meaning to try out for a long time and it's just perfect for a reversible bag because of its bucket shape and the fact that it's not meant to close.

The other side is plain, natural canvas in the antique white I'm partial to.

Because of its lack of adornment I added four big pockets in the same cotton canvas and used an almost mustard yellow thread for all the seams.

Since I finished it in the last possible minute, I had to take the pictures in the hot midday sun, so the quality of the photos themselves as well as the intensity of the colours of the floral fabric are quite muted compared to the original, but that can't be helped now.....

I'll try and take some better pictures soon.
