The Naughty Notions Bag

Yes, once more I find myself uploading the pictures of my bag challenge entry at the last minute -and vowing I will not do this again next time....

The good news is that, while,, literally finished at the last minute, it is exactly what I had imagined.

The pictures weren't the best -at the setting of the sun, it was no wonder
...but I hope you get the idea....

Most of these labels, buttons and various notions have a sentimental value and have been lurking in dark places for a project such as this.
For example, the little white daisy with the hanging beads adorned my mother's wedding dress....

I'll get some better pictures tomorrow, but for now, here is the front and below is the back of my entry.

Here is were you can see the rest of the bags in the challenge.

November Solids-Only Tote Challenge Entry

Yes, I will say it....better late than never....
My tote for the Solids Only Tote Challenge for the month of November is finished! And I managed to get a couple of -quite attrocious-  pictures, before the light disappeared, to prove it....

It's not exactly what I had in mind when I started, but I almost always let the bag take me where it will, whether it's sketched on paper or not.

A close-up of the appliqued leaves.

I'll get some new pictures as soon as I can.

But you get the idea....

I spy.....The Solids-Only Tote Challenge

Ricka and Keren of Ricocet and Away and Sew la Vie respectively have organised a bag-making challenge for the month of  November.

Of course, any -good- excuse to make a bag will do, so I jumped right in.
The rules are simple enough and explained in detail in the Solids-Only Tote Challenge Homepage.
It finishes on the 30th of November, so there's still time to join in.

Mermaids - New EuropeanStreetTeam Challenge

I am thrilled to be hosting the new European Team challenge this week!
The lovely Estella of StarOfTheEast has graciously turned over the honour of choosing the new theme to me, which I gladly accept.

So, without further ado, the new challenge theme is : Mermaids

This is a collection  of some beautiful vintage mermaids I found - for inspiration.

The rules for the challenge are simple.

1.You must be a member of the European Etsy Street Team.

2. Your entry must be a new creation inspired by the current theme.
No re-listings please.

Entries will be accepted until the 7th of August and the winner will be announced on the 8th of August.

The way you interpret the theme is according to your own taste, style and inspiration.

Maybe thinking of the deep blue sea, sparkling scales, seafoam, starfish , shells and other sea-creatures, female sirens and mythical beauties will help....

Just click on 'Mermaid Challenge- Entries' to link up your listing and join the challenge.
I hope you enjoy playing around with the theme.

I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I'll be posting some great etsy mermaid-inspired items in the next few days for even more inspiration.

Saturday Shopping-Magenta and Teal Flower Brooch

This is my latest finished and listed brooch.

It's quite little. Only about 6cm long.

But what it lacks in size it makes up for in colour.

It was made for the European Etsy Street Team Challenge:
Magenta and Teal.

Hence the teal leaves.
Out of the last piece of my favourite teal tulle.

For more Saturday Shopping click on Zsazsazsu.
