Feathers and Crystals Flower Headpiece

This veiled headpiece was a recent custom order for an August bride.
The stark white flower has crystals in the centre, ranging from clear to silver. The headpiece also has handmade tulle leaves, immaculate white feathers and white Russian veil. The picture hardly does it justice.
The bride, I'm happy to say, loved it!

Golden Wood Nymph Hair Wreath

Lately I've been making hair wreaths.
This is something very new and exciting for me as, even though they've been on my to-make list forever, I'd never attempted them before.

These hair wreaths are an all glitzy-and-glamorous gold admixture of leaves and pine cones which conjures up images of festivities and revels to me.

The pictures are admitedly not the best but I'm hoping that when I shoot them on a model they will reveal all their grecian godess potential.
(Anyone out there who would like to model this for me?)

But for now this is all you get and I'm hoping you can see them through my eyes....

If you look closely at the photos you can see that there's a hint of shabby-chic about the leaves -that I particularly like.

Each wreath is unique and distinct.
No two are identical.

I've posted one in Fairytale Flower already.

Blush

These are three champagne organza flowers  made recently for the bridal sash of a blushing June bride.

I can't wait to see what she does with them. With an ivory wedding gown, they are sure to look spectacular!

Caramel or Dark Chocolate?

This is what I'm working on lately.
Leaves for this very large, very red organza flower.

There are two versions I'm stuck on because I like them equally.
One is this very dark chocolate brown

and the other is this lovely dark caramel brown corduroy.

Corduroy is definately one of my favourite winter materials and with the temperature dropping noticably in the evenings, I've been longing to work with it.

What do you think?
Which leaves are best?
The lighter corduroy leaves or the darker, more dramatic ones?

Top 10 Autumn Forest Walks

Autumn is finally here. You can smell it in the air. You can feel it in the welcome drop of temperature. You can see it in the changing colour of the leaves.
It's time to take a walk through the fall forest and enjoy the splendor of the season.

Pastel Pink Organza Flower with Metalic Pink Leaves

This is my newest organza flower hair clip / brooch.

I love working with pastel pink organza and this time I mixed it up with all sorts of other lovely organzas as well as tulle -the garden variety white tulle as well as tulle with lace .

I think you can see all the diferent layers in the close-up below.

However, my latest addiction is the pink metalic leaves.
I came across this fabric a while ago and it's been sitting around patiently waiting for its turn to be picked up.

Now I can't wait to make all sorts of flowers with these shiny pastel leaves.

My Creative Space - Red Leather

My creative space is full of red leather leaves today.

I've had this wonderful piece of red leather for a while now, waiting for the right project to come along....

I started these last night, thinking to add them to a flower

But the leather is quite thick and heavy and I found the leaves way too pretty to be half hidden under the petals of the flower.

I settled on these colours for the veins, yellow, caramel and a deep, rich chestnut.

Maybe I'm -subconciously- getting ready for fall......

I spy.....DovieMoon Fairies

This week I spy the thoroughly delightful fairies of DovieMoon.
Fantasy photographs of the most magical of little creatures captured in fairytale settings.

Aren't they just adorable?
