Large Raven Black Flowers

These are large black organza flowers I made for a special project.
There's eight of them - in the two different sizes shown in these pictures.

They're actually darker than the pictures show. They're jet black with no hint of blue at all. Both the organza used for the petals and the tulle are as black as night.
The only relief from the darkness of the flower comes in the form of the gold stamens in the centre and and a hint of dark bronze organza in the mix to highlight the black and give the flower some depth and interest. Can you see it?

Summer Hair Flowers

Summer hair flowers in a riotous mix of coral, red and pink.

With a dash of gold in the centre.

These can be worn as either a brooch or a hair clip due to their nifty dual brooch/clip back.

They measure about 8 cm or 3.2 inches across and will be listed shortly in the shop.

Teal Tulle

I was going through some old photos when I came across these, of some long-gone teal tulle leaves. (In the picture above you can see them straight off the sewing machine and still attached to the tulle, before being cut out.)

I love making tulle leaves and I use them quite a bit when making my fabric flowers. But usually they're white or ivory, maybe silver, sometimes baby blue

This particular shade is, perhaps, the boldest I've used in my tulle leaves.
Which is surprising, given my love of colour..... ( glaringly obvious in the pairing of said leaves with a flamboyant hot pink)

I think I'll go get some of my bolder coloured tulle out and make some leaves, just for the fun of it...

Black & White

A little black and white organza brooch with tulle leaves.

This is actually one I made a couple of years back for myself  and, surprisingly, I managed to keep it. I tend to give them away in the end, despite all my intentions of keeping them....
But, really, how many can you keep?
 I've still got this one.
I love how light and airy it is.

White Flower Hair Pins

Delicate white organza flowers on hair pins.
The thing I love about these hair pins is that you can scatter them over your hair or arrange them in a manner befitting your chosen hairstyle according to your mood.
There are so many possiblities in the way you can wear them.

These were a custom order for a bride in France.

Violet And Blue

I made this violet and blue organza flower keyring the other day for a friend.
It's the very first thing I made in the new year!

The leaves are a beautiful, deep violet purple satin and the flower is a deep almost midnight blue organza. I couldn't photograph either true hue properly but you get the general idea of what it looks like.

I love the violet-blue combination of flower and leaves and thankfully so does the receiver who  is already in possession of it....

I've actually made myself a couple of these flower keyrings (in other colour combinations) for the new year.
I'll try to remember to photograph them and share the pictures.....

Fairytale Flower DIY

Yes, I have been rather absent from this blog lately but I have not been idle....

The photo collage above is a sneak peek into a diy project I've been working on for Sew Mama Sew blog which I've enjoyed thoroughly and can't wait to share with you.

Come back later for a series of easy diy floral accessory tutorials: a floral crown, a flower wrist corsage and a flower headband.

The White Collection

In trying to show the different hues of my white flowers, I grouped some of my white flowers together, threw in some other, mostly white, objects for referrence and made a mini white collection. Then I took pictures.

Lilac Fairytale Flower Hair Clip

This is my latest listing: large organza flowers in a sweet, romantic,  lilac.

To me, their shape resembles a cabbage rose and they are my latest addiction.
I've made them in all sorts of colours and sizes.

I'd love to see these flowers on a bride, bridesmaid or even a diminutive flowergirl.
