Bridal White Flower Wrist Corsage

These white organza flower and white tulle leaf corsages were part of a custom order of bridesmaids and flower girl corsages.
The almost luminous peach centre is a combination of translucent beads and iridescent sequins.

My Creative Space - Radiant Orchid Flower Corsage

I'm in the middle of an order for bridesmaids' corsages, so My Creative Space could be nothing else this week.

Bridesmaids' flower accessories in sweetest of purple shades fabric, vintage lace and pearls with tulle leaves and pretty satin ribbon.

Here's a heap of them, in various stages of completion.

And here's an example of one of them worn.

I love this colour.
Have you seen Pantone's colour of the year for 2014?
It's Radiant Orchid and it's the sweetest, most inspiring purple hue.

I'm afraid I've been somewhat remiss in sharing the latest rik rak mega give-away for the holidays.

There are 5 fabulous prize packs to be won by 5 fabulously lucky winners! Each prize pack is valued at over $100.

Prize pack B has a wonderful set of freshwater coin pearl jewelry by sparrow grey, an eco felt stocking of your choice from rikrak, as well as a white shantung silk ruffle cuff from my very own One Perfect Day.

The winners will be chosen on December 4, so you'd better hurry up if you want to be in the running for this one.

There will be another giveaway on this blog very soon. I'll be joining the SewMamaSew Giveaway Day on December 3, along with hundreds of others.
Giveaway Day is actually a week long and you don't want to miss it!

Newest Silk Ruffle Cuff in Dark Champagne Shantung Silk

Here's my newest ruffle cuff and it's in a beautiful shantung silk -just like my last one. Only this one's a dark champagne gold that shimmers with the characteristic glow of this particular kind of silk.

It has a wide vintage cotton lace in antique white.

The edges are purposely left raw for a shabby chic feel.
I have finished cuffs off with stitched edges and  the result is quite nice, but usually they tend to look much stiffer, without the flow that these -untreated- ones have.
I suppose it's simply a matter of taste.
Or mood.

The ribbon that secures the cuff to the wrist is natural cotton in a darkish camel beige.

I have some more golden silks I want to try out in these cuffs.
And I'm looking forward to doing some black ones with black lace again, like this one.

Softest Champagne Silk Ruffle Cuff

The silk used for this cuff was such a joy to work with.
In the most subtle of golds and soft as a baby kitten, it's most definately a favourite.

There's also some of my grandmother's prized crochet lace there.
I'm sure I've mentioned her before. She was a wizard with a hook.
 A real master.

Every time I see her handiwork I regret not learning to crochet from her when I had the chance.

So I use the precious stash I have judiciously.

I've also used some natural cotton ribbon in an antique white.
It's quite stiff to begin with, but every time it's worn, it gets softer and softer untill it's smooth and silky.

Bridal White Ruffle Cuff

In total white, made out of the softest, most bridal white, natural cotton ruffles and layers of lace in dazzling white and antique white, this cuff is one of my favourite so far.
