My Creative Space- Leaf Experiments

I've been working on my mother-daughter organza flowers a lot lately.

I've already confessed an addiction to making them.

Now I have to confess to yet another one....

It's the leaves...

I can't stop making those either.

I've been experimenting with different colours,  textures and sizes.

Different silks, denim, canvas, cotton, jersey and lace have all being given a go.

I have to admit to being slightly partial to the shantung silk but I do love them all.

These are the very latest version. Silk on denim.

I can't wait to see them fray....

My Creative Space - Mother-Daughter Accessories

This is what's on my work table today:

  These are part of the mummy-daughter accessories I've started making.

This red mix is actualy quite striking.

(Unfortunately these pictures do not accurately capture the colours.)

The layers of organza, tulle and viscose include burgundy, flame, orange, hot pink, fuschia, neon pink and a dark rose.

They are quite large, about 5.5in/14cm for the mummy one and 4in/10cm for the daughter one.

Now they need some leaves and they'll be ready....

Birthday Girl Pouch

It was a special little girl's birthday this week.

This is what she got.

An extra bright organza flower brooch

in a mix of honeysuckle, rose and flame

with tulle leaves.

In a little silk pouch

of the most vibrant coppery gold.

Flame!

 These flowers are all I seem to be doing lately.....

They're thoroughly addictive.

I've made them in all sorts of colours.

And the latest colour is always my favourite.

The colour of the organza in these pictures doesn't even begin to describe its real hue.

In reality it's a mesmerizing flame explosion!

And that's coming from a person who is orange's least likely fan.
